RE : Who's in the running?
Who is Alan Moran?? He doesn't play for mayo anyway.
Bernard Brogan, is this the same guy who was taken off with ten minutes left in the leinster final with the game still in the melting pot? Hardly player of the year material now

I think Karl Lacey has to be footballer of the year his work rate, reading of the ball and contribution to Donegal scoring has been outstanding.

Cant believe Johnny Doyle has not been mentioned - he's been immense for Kildare.

Can't believe that the Gooch hasn't been nominated.
Yes Cluxton scored the point to win the title but he made no big saves in the final, and I struggle to think of any all year.
Aside from that, most of his kickouts were won by Kerry in the All Ireland final.

RE : Who's in the running?
Gooch didn't really have a good year, apart from the mayo game. although, that's by his lofty standards.
Ok he got the goal in the final but that was more to do with fitzsimons having to go to the ball than gooch losing him.
It was a good finish all the same.
Cluxton shouldn't really be on it either, hte only reason he is on it is bacsue of "that" point.
It will be talked about 30 years from now, nothing gooch done this year will.
