Which GAA counties are harnessing Twitter?

Shane Stapleton
It’s the irresistible age of social media and GAA counties are trying to embrace an online following. Some county boards are doing so better than others. Below is a list of their amount of tweets, how many people follow their accounts and the number they follow themselves.
Cork lead the charge in followers and by quite some margin — which is no great surprise given how readily they fire out tweets. It’s rather surprising to see Dublin so far down the list in sixth but that may be explained by the presence of several other accounts dedicated to the boys in blues; indeed this is no doubt the case in other counties too.
Still, it’s interesting to look at the manner in which some county boards are targeting a willing local audience, and those who have made little attempt to harness the power of Twitter.
