Green light for Carlisle meet

Sunday's meeting at Carlisle will go ahead as planned after the course passed a 3pm inspection.

Recent sub-zero temperatures had given officials cause for concern but a much milder night in Cumbria meant the course was left raceable.

With temperatures not forecast to dip below freezing overnight the meeting was given the green light.

Carlisle's twitter feed posted: "We have passed the inspection. Carlisle is racing tomorrow. Gates open at 10.30am."
