Last-gasp Flynn strike earns point for Pat's

Pat Flynn salvaged an undeserved point for St. Pat's with a last minute equaliser as the gloom still hangs over Tallaght Stadium.

Craig Sives' 71st minute flick header from a Billy Dennehy free-kick was more than Rovers deserved from a match they dominated for good spells.

But ex-Rovers right-back Flynn popped up in the final minute to chest down a John Russell cross at the back post and drill a shot to the net.

St. Pat's started the better with Rovers' keeper Oscar Jansson forced into a diving save to push Anto Flood's header out for a corner on 13 minutes.

But Rovers changed their shape and responded with Sives blazing over the top before getting his head to a second free-kick to bring a good stop from Brendan Clarke.

Clarke then raced off his line to made the stop of the game with his feet from Dennehy on 41 minutes.

Gary Twigg might have doubled Rovers' lead on 87 minutes but for another terrific save from Clarke before Flynn's sting in the tail.
